My Clients

Who I Work Best With

How I Work

A Clear Path Forward

Good financial planning isn't a one-time event — it's an ongoing process that evolves as your life does. Here's how I approach it.

01

Understand Your Full Picture

We start with a real conversation about where you are and where you want to go — your assets, income, obligations, goals, and what's keeping you up at night. I don't rely on questionnaires alone. Understanding you is the foundation of everything.

02

Build the Plan

I develop a comprehensive financial plan that covers investment strategy, tax efficiency, risk management, and cash flow — all aligned to your specific goals and timeline. You'll leave with a clear roadmap, not a stack of generic recommendations.

03

Implement with Precision

We put the plan into action together — constructing your portfolio, optimizing account structure for tax efficiency, and coordinating with other professionals in your life (CPAs, attorneys, estate planners) as needed.

04

Monitor & Adapt

Your life changes, and your plan should too. We meet regularly to review performance, revisit assumptions, and adjust strategy. Between meetings, I'm available when something significant shifts — because the best time to prepare is usually before a change is upon you.

FAQ

Questions I Hear Most

What does working with you look like day-to-day?

Most clients hear from me proactively — when market conditions create an opportunity, when something changes in tax law that affects their plan, or when it's time for a scheduled review. We typically meet formally two to three times per year, but I'm accessible between meetings. You'll have direct access to me by phone and email, not a call center.

What types of clients do you work with?

My practice is primarily focused on high-net-worth individuals and families — people with real financial complexity who want a comprehensive, relationship-driven approach. That includes professionals at major career transitions, families managing multigenerational wealth, and pre-retirees building income plans. If you're not sure whether you're a fit, the best thing to do is have a conversation.

How does Claro charge for its services?

Claro Advisors is a fee-only, fiduciary RIA — which means we're compensated only by our clients, never by commissions or product sales. Our fees are based on assets under management, and that fee covers comprehensive financial planning, investment management, and ongoing access to your advisor. I'll walk you through the full fee structure in our first conversation. Our full fee schedule is described in our Form ADV Part 2A, available at https://adviserinfo.sec.gov/firm/summary/160294 or upon request.

What's different about how you invest?

I believe in evidence-based, disciplined portfolio construction — not market timing or chasing performance. What distinguishes Claro's approach is in the integration of tax strategy with investment management. Tax-loss harvesting, asset location, and thoughtful portfolio transitions may contribute to improved after-tax outcomes over time, though results will vary based on individual circumstances. I treat tax efficiency as a core part of investment strategy, not an afterthought.

I already have a CPA and an estate attorney. Do I still need a financial advisor?

Yes — and the three disciplines work best when they're coordinated. Your CPA is focused on accurate reporting; your attorney is focused on legal structure. My job is to connect the dots across your full financial picture, help you make forward-looking decisions around taxes, investments, and long-term planning, and make sure your team is aligned. Many of my clients already had a CPA and attorney when we started working together — and I work closely with those professionals as part of an integrated planning approach.

  1. 1
Evidence-based"Evidence-based" refers to an investment approach informed by decades of peer-reviewed academic research in financial economics, including foundational work on market efficiency, factor investing, and long-term return drivers. This methodology emphasizes broad diversification, disciplined cost management, systematic rebalancing, and exposure to return factors identified in the academic literature (such as market, size, value, and profitability premiums). It does not imply that future results can be predicted or guaranteed. All investing involves risk, including the potential loss of principal.
