Joseph Waitkevich

Wealth Advisor

Joseph Waitkevich is a Wealth Advisor at Claro Advisors who helps individuals & families navigate investments, retirement planning, and long-range financial decisions aligned with what matters most to them. He also brings a specialty that sets his practice apart: divorce financial planning.

As a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst®, Joe helps clients navigate the financial side of one of life's most challenging transitions with technical expertise and a calm, supportive approach — bringing clarity to a complicated process so clients can move forward on solid footing.

Joe brings a patient, methodical style and a knack for making complex decisions feel manageable. He listens first, explains things plainly, and treats every client relationship as an ongoing partnership — whether someone is building toward retirement, putting a windfall to work, or simply wants a clearer picture of where they stand.

He holds a Bachelor's degree in Finance from Fairfield University and developed his expertise in divorce financial planning early in his career in Massachusetts before recently relocating to Austin, Texas with his fiancée. Despite the move, he remains a devoted Boston Celtic fan.

FAQs

Common Questions

What types of clients do you work with?

Joseph works with a wide range of clients — individuals and families at various stages of life, business owners, and people navigating major financial transitions like divorce. He's licensed to work with clients nationwide and can meet virtually with clients anywhere in the country.

What makes your approach to divorce financial planning different?

Joseph holds both the CDFA® (Certified Divorce Financial Analyst) designation and the Certified QDRO Specialist™ certification — two credentials specifically focused on the financial mechanics of divorce. That means he can help clients understand the full picture of what's at stake, reduce the risk of costly mistakes in asset division, and build a financial plan for life after divorce, not just during it.

What does working with a Claro advisor look like?

You get all the benefits of a highly personalized advisory relationship — regular meetings, direct access to your advisor, and a plan built around your goals — plus proprietary technology and an integrated planning platform designed to give you a clearer, more connected picture of your financial life and what your advisor can do for you.

How often will we meet?

That depends on your needs, but Joseph stays close to every client. For most, that means regular check-ins throughout the year — and always being reachable when something comes up between meetings.
