Vice President & Wealth Advisor
Mike Kurkulonis is a Vice President and Wealth Advisor at Claro Advisors with over 18 years of experience in financial services. His practice focuses on retirement planning, asset protection, wealth accumulation, and wealth transfer — the full arc of building and preserving financial security for individuals and families.
As a Chartered Retirement Plan Counselor (CRPC®), Mike works to help each client understand their portfolio in the context of their own life, not someone else's template.
Before joining Claro in 2012, Mike built his career at Morgan Stanley, Fidelity Bank, and Millbury Credit Union, bringing broad institutional experience to a very personal kind of work. He earned his BA in Marketing from Assumption College and holds a Life and Health Insurance Producer license in Massachusetts.
From savings strategy to income distribution, Mike helps you build a plan that gets you to retirement — and carries you through it.
Protecting what you've built is just as important as building it. Mike structures portfolios with downside awareness and your long-term security in mind.
As a Certified in Long-Term Care professional, Mike brings specialized expertise to one of retirement's most overlooked risks — and most important conversations.
Whether you're thinking about legacy, estate planning, or gifting strategies, Mike helps make sure your wealth goes where you want it to.
Smart, disciplined investing over time. Mike works with clients to grow assets in ways that align with their goals, timeline, and risk tolerance.
As a licensed Life and Health Insurance Producer, Mike helps clients assess and close gaps in income protection across all life stages.
Before anything else, we take time to understand where you are — your income, your assets, your goals, and the things keeping you up at night. No assumptions, no generic checklists.
We develop a personalized financial plan that connects your current situation to where you want to go. Retirement timeline, risk profile, long-term care exposure, estate considerations — all of it, together.
With a clear strategy in place, we build and implement a portfolio designed for your life — with each position intentionally selected to support your goals.
We assess your coverage and risk exposure — income protection, long-term care, insurance — to help reduce the impact of unexpected events on your plan.
Your life changes. Your plan should too. We meet regularly to review progress, revisit assumptions, and keep everything current.
My practice is built around individuals and families who are either approaching retirement or already in it. Many of my clients are focused on making sure they don't outlive their money, protecting what they've built, and thinking through what they want to leave behind. I also work with clients at earlier stages who want to get serious about building wealth with a long-term plan in place.
Retirement planning isn't just about your investment account — it's about income, expenses, healthcare, longevity, taxes, and legacy. We look at all of it together. As a Chartered Retirement Plan Counselor, I'm specifically trained to help clients think through the full picture of retirement readiness, not just the portfolio side.
Long-term care is one of the biggest financial risks retirees face, and it's one of the most underplanned-for. The cost of extended care can erode decades of savings quickly. My CLTC certification means I have specific training in this area — I help clients assess their exposure and think through options before a crisis forces the decision.
That depends on what's useful to you. Most of my clients and I connect at least annually for a formal review — but we're in touch more regularly when there's a decision to make or something in your life that changes the picture. My goal is to be available when it matters, not just on a schedule.
