Common Questions

What types of clients do you work with?

I work primarily with individuals and families who want a thoughtful, research-driven approach to managing their wealth. Many of my clients are in a period of transition — approaching retirement, navigating a windfall, or simply ready to work with an advisor who brings real investment depth to the relationship.

What makes your approach different from other advisors?

My background is on the institutional investment side — I've spent over 20 years analyzing markets and building portfolios at firms like BNY Mellon, Jefferies, and Boston Research & Management. That lens doesn't go away when I'm working with an individual client. I'm running macro research and stress-testing your portfolio against real-world conditions — actively monitoring and adjusting as the environment evolves.

How do you charge for your services?

Claro Advisors is a fee-only, fiduciary RIA — which means we're compensated only by our clients, never by commissions or product sales. Our fees are based on assets under management, and that fee covers financial planning, investment management, and ongoing access to your advisor. Additional costs may apply, including custodial fees, fund-level expenses, or third-party manager fees, depending on your portfolio. I'll walk you through the full fee structure in our first conversation. Our full fee schedule is described in our Form ADV Part 2A, available at https://adviserinfo.sec.gov/firm/summary/160294 or upon request.

What does working with you actually look like day-to-day?

You'll hear from me proactively — not just at scheduled review meetings. When markets move in ways that affect your portfolio, I reach out. When something changes in your life, we adjust. It's a real relationship, not a once-a-year call.

What's your take on working with Claro's technology platform?

The platform gives me tools that let me spend less time on paperwork and more time on what actually matters — your investments and your plan. It's not technology for its own sake. It just means you get more of my attention where it counts.
